Sally Carrera - Disney Cars

Sally is a baby blue 996 series 2002 Porsche 911 from California. Her license plate number is 301PCE. She also appears in the Cars video game.

Engine: 3596 cc flat 6 cylinders engine / Horsepower: 320 horsepower @ 6800 RPM / 0-60: 4.9 seconds

This sporty 2002 Porsche 911 grew tired of life in the fast lane, and made a new start for herself in Radiator Springs. As the proprietor of the Cozy Cone Motel, and one of the town's most optimistic boosters, she has high hopes that it will one day return to its former glory, and wind up "back on the map." She takes an instant shine to Lightning McQueen, the race car which is a mix of Ford GT and Ford Mustang, and helps to steer him in the right direction.

Sally Carrera is the town attorney of Radiator Springs in the 2006 Pixar film Cars. She and Lightning McQueen are in love with each other for most of the film. Sally's last name is Carrera, reffering to the Porsche 911 Carrera, Sally's model. The name was suggested by Porsche employee Howard Buck.

Sally runs the Cozy Cone Motel. Later, she and Lightning reopened the Wheel Well Hotel. She calls Lightning McQueen "Stickers," first as a way to tease him (because of his fake headlights), and later as a friendly nickname. In the UK cars magazine Top Gear, Sally was included in the magazine's list of the 10 sexiest cars in the World. The use of a "Porsche" may be a pun on the character Portia from "The Merchant of Venice," who also acts as a lawyer in a trial scene.

The Porsche 911 (pronounced as Nine Eleven, German: Neunelfer) is a sports car made by Porsche AG of Stuttgart, Germany. The famous, distinctive, and durable design is notable for being rear engined like the Porsche-designed Volkswagen Beetle it had been based on. It was also air-cooled until the introduction of the all-new Type 996 in 1998. Since its introduction in autumn 1963, it has undergone continuous development even though Porsche neglected the 911 during most of the 1970s and 1980s in favour of front-engine cars like the Porsche 928.

Since its inception the 911 has been modified, both by private teams and the factory itself, for racing, rallying and other types of automotive competition. It is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, as the normally aspirated 911 Carrera RSR in the mid 1970s has won major world championship sports car races such as Targa Florio, Daytona, Sebring or Nrburgring outright even against prototypes. The 935 turbo also added the coveted 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979.

In the international poll for the award of Car of the Century, the 911 came fifth after the Ford Model T, the Mini, the Citroen DS and the Volkswagen Beetle. It is the most successful surviving application of the air (now water) cooled opposed rear engine layout pioneered by its original ancestor, the Volkswagen Beetle, having increased its original 25 PS more than tenfold, or 30fold in turbocharged race cars. It is the second-oldest sports car nameplate still in production, behind the Chevrolet Corvette.

The quintessential symbol of big bucks, the sleek air-cooled Porsche 911 was launched in 1963 and continues to be a strong selling car despite prices that run nearly $100,000. The Porsche, designed by German racing buff Ferdinand Porsche, dates back to 1938. The first model to be sold to the public, the 356 in 1948, gave way to the 911, which had a stronger six-cylinder engine that became a star of the racetrack circuit.

Porsche cars, including later models, dominated the Le Mans racing series for years. Sally Carrera is anything but a thrill-seeking rally racer in Disney Cars Movie, however. A beautiful blue Porsche who was tired of California's "fast land," Sally is a charming lawyer who wants to put the town of Radiator Springs "back on the map." On the side, she also runs the Cozy Cone Motel, which tries to lure tourists with its own unique collection of -- you guessed it -- caution-cone collectibles.
